My Bio
Super-fast FAQ.

1-
Are you a Metalhead? YES! A Furry? NO! The ears are a joke.

2-
How do you work?
Painting in layers with photoshop and Krita. Over the recent years, I've based Palaeontological work carefully on scientific studies and reputable skeleton reconstructions (eg Scott Hartman), and using a custom ruler tool scaled to meters and measured against individual bones or segments. Also of course, lots of scientific articles, often directly testing for size. My older Palaeo art is just eyeballed (with surprising precision I am proud to say) but lacking scientific research.

3
I noticed something incorrect- mind if I let you know?
Please do! That said, the source you use makes a world of difference.. like the difference between Siverson getting upset I wasn't convinced his top-secret 20 meter Megalodon skeleton existed, all the way up to Ovleg convincing me to make a new 18m Megalodon size chart based on his scientific study (Leder, Perez and Badaut, 2016).

4
Image usage? Can I link-to/use your images?
Feel free to ask- my answer will probably be "yes"!
I've actually had my images published in books by Penguin, and taken commissions for Ken Derby in the past too (and this is back when I was strapped for time).

Dang, so much has happened! Besides my own life, we've now had studies elongating Megalodon, new Tyrannosaurus (possibly a new species) and baleen whales that cast a massive wealth of info of the origins of both animals, AND a study presenting a very powerful case for the viability of Nanotyrannus (honestly none of which I was expecting)! These have NOT gone unnoticed at all, merely a certain new someone (who I'm keeping an eye on even as I type); and a few logistical problems getting my art computer set up (now resolved as of today!) have kept me from jumping into them. Luckily things are starting to get more streamlined, and I'm now getting closer to preparing some works for release: a major one is based on some research into assymetrical tooth enamel (a major premise for lips)- which has been actually very interesting, and lead to a very curious example to test it on. Another is a massive overhaul of an older dinosaur work (overdue), and I'll also have something ready for April 1

Great news everyone! As I've been teasing a big life change last week, I'm now a DAD!

Hey all! Sorry I've been so quiet, I've been busy preparing for an exciting life event that should happen in, oh, the next couple of weeks (I'll keep it a surprise, though I suppose the way I described it is a bit of an obvious give away-hehe). So, I do have some imminent works in the pipeline. My NEW Giganotosaurus is nearly done, just doing some unprecedented high-detail touch-ups before completing it. (This is ironically the same reason my Alamosaurus is taking so long- it's pretty much complete- but turns out the TRUE skin texture of Titanosaurs is VERY complicated, and very different from what I depicted, so warrants further work. But given recent research into theropod lips, I felt it a sensible decision to create a slightly different kind of work exploring the implications for the applicability of lips to preempt future theropod works. I've done a LOT of digging and uncovered some VERY interesting leads to delve into the subject! Finally, I updated my Prognathodon currii

Damn something set this guy off- I feel like there's an interesting backstory for this screencap.

Ikr, and he literary spammed trash words to me and made fun of my artwork

like seriously that’s just ridiculous what did I ever do to him 😐

Hmmm, I reckon something you said must have set him off. It could have been as simple as a statement or one of the animals you depicted didn't line up to his expectations maybe? I wouldn't sweat it to be honest.

:dummy::hug::happybounce::hug:so good to see you my dear dude buddy.

Hey, letting you know that I'm nearly done with my new manuscript on the size variation for other cetaceans. Probably gonna submit it by mid-November if you have any questions, let me know.

I'm very excited to see what you come up with. Which cetaceans in particular will it be covering? And any hints about patterns you've been able to notice in these trends? (or lack therof? This in itself will be a very interesting point, as you've done an excellent job of getting me to rethink my "Antarctic Bergman Rule")
