Description

I'm back!

For my Red Alert Zero mod

The Battle Fortress (national Allied unit for Turkey)

Like the old version- only with a higher capacity, a flamethrower replacing its machinegun, and a few extra bonuses!

This unit is a national unit for Turkey (Allied Faction)- which means that it is teamed up with the Mortar Infantry. Note that for balancing reasons, Mortar Infantry are initially completely incapable of firing from inside any structure or vehicle; so to balance, there is the 'Mustafa Initiative' which upgrades
-Mortar Troopers can now fire from inside the Battle Fortress, Wildcat IFV, and Pillbox
-Battle Fortresses can carry 11 people instead of 7
-Battle Fortresses are now amphibious.

The design was trying to mix the classic Battle Fortress with a few real-world Turkish APCs
(and adding a few stereotypical middle-eastern decors too; er, the idea is that the crews are often stationed around remote middle eastern areas, and added them on to disguise the APC as a small, regional farmhouse or something).

(in more detail)
It was surprisingly tricky at first trying to balance all the things I wanted to squeeze into it;
-traditional YR BattleFortress design
-multiple Turkish APCs (surprisingly Turkey makes a lot of massive, bulky troop crawlers, so finding examples was fairly easy)
-That 'Moving Fortress/ Noah's Arc' silhuette I'd been experimenting with (gives an appropriately massive form)
-Flamethrower themes
-the 'Middle Eastern' stuff, minus the domes (or it'd look Soviet).
-All while avoiding looking strictly box-shaped.

To I simply decided to start getting the most important parts of each in that order; Basically, an FNSS Pars troop crawler converted to caterpillar tracks and stretched to fit the BF's general shape (but different); added a fire tower on top (giving the 'ark' look), noticed there was room for napalm tanks on the sides, and simply stuck the middle-eastern fabric window-shades over the firing ports (which conveniently satisfied most of the team-color problem).

Hope you like it!
