The Drole

This creature is my take of the monster known as the Drole from the mod Quoth for Quake (by Kell and Necros), itself and the monsters within heavily inspired by HP Lovecraft.

A monster with a single eye-stalk, a large mouth on its stomach, four tentacles and walks on two hooves- I changed the shape so the bits fit in a bulkier, earth-heavy form (it must weigh at least half a tonne). Also wanted to give it a form more suggestive of something from a horror film- as opposed to something from Spore. Hope it worked...
His mouth in particular went through a few changes- particularly teeth- going for something more like an organic meat-grinder than an ordinary mouth.

Continuing from my original sketch, originally to practice using Photoshop and various painting techniques- it has since gone well beyond my original doodling intentions!
It took many hours to complete (still adjusting to the interface), with the help of various Axis of Perdition songs (strongly recommended for Lovecraftian horror)!
